The Position

Clinical Informatics Consultant

 

What We Need

A Clinical Informatics Consultant to be focused on the clinical information across the Kareo platform to deliver healthcare services.  The Clinical Informaticist is critical in enabling Kareo to deliver solutions that streamline clinical documentation and billing practices, while enhancing the patient-provider relationship. The primary focus of this role is to drive coding framework and workflow best practices to empower Kareo team members to design, build, and launch solutions that resonate with providers and differentiate Kareo from its competition. 

 

This position will partner with Product and UX to conceptualize the ideal EHR experience from the point of view of the provider. This person will contribute to strategic design, codification of Kareo Clinical to optimize documentation and billing workflows, and drive interoperability. The Clinical Informatics Consultant will also represent Patient-Safety across the platform and influence the broader product portfolio to optimize our customer experience. 

 

Your Area of Focus

  • Serve as an internal consultant for Product, Product Design, and Engineering
  • Partner with Product and UX to conceptualize the ideal EHR experience from the point of view of the provider and the provider-patient relationship
  • Represent providers on key initiatives to modernize the patient experience and tailor clinical solutions
  • Optimize EHR buildout for quality and safety 
  • Optimize EHR for research and data inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures regarding clinical documentation
  • Provide patient safety oversight and help to establish processes
  • Participate as an active member of the Kareo teams focused on Clinical solutions for product and design inputs, business rule confirmation, solution reviews, and testing validation
  • Interface with other product and development groups  and cross-functional teams as needed to deliver a cohesive customer experience
  • Develop in-house and patient safety education modules 

 

Your Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Informatics or related degree, advanced degree preferred
  • Doctor of Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, or Nursing Practice, or related degree preferred
  • Board-certified or board eligible physician informaticist
  • Outstanding collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum practices
